Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies is department focused on chemical wood processing, research and analysis of wood-based materials.

Department provides education on all faculties of Technical University in Zvolen. It deals with classes of special disciplines focused on chemical wood processing and thermal wood treatment in all grades of study, among the basic subjects. In the field of scientific research, the department works on tasks of basic and applied research focused mainly on chemical changes of wood components during individual wood processing technologies and their influence on the environment.
